Field Day
Planning for our last field day has begun. Please make sure that you have a valid CORI on file before the event. Any individual without a processed CORI will not be allowed to volunteer during the event.
Fire Safety Program
Students in kindergarten are scheduled to participate in a fire safety program this week. Firefighters from the Billerica Fire Department will discuss fire safety, including smoke detectors, family plans, and what to do in case of an emergency.
Middle School Visits
Students in grades four and five are scheduled to visit the Marshall and Locke Middle Schools during the last week of May. Grade four will visit on May 29 and grade five will visit on May 30. Transportation will be provided. Please return the permission slip that was sent home last week as soon as possible.

MCAS
Students in grades five are scheduled to participate in MCAS Science/Technology testing this week. Students who have missed a session will also make-up that test this week.
The state provides us with strict guidelines for student participation. Please make sure that your student arrives to school on time. Students that arrive after the test session begins will not be able to join their peers until after the session is complete. If a student is absent or misses a testing session, a make-up test will be provided if the student returns to school during the testing window.
NED's Kindness Mission
On Monday, May 20, 2019 our students are scheduled to visit the Ditson Elementary School for NED's Kindness Mission. Please return the permission form that was sent home last week. The plan is to depart the Vining by 8:15am and return immediately following the presentation. Similar to the NED presentation from the fall, students will be allowed to purchase small items through this pay it forward program. These items will be on sale all of next week. Please submit orders to the main office.

Please contact Mrs. Brewster if your home address is changing or if your child will be attending school outside of Billerica. We are in the process of planning for the 2019/2020 school year.

Thank you to everyone in helping make Staff Appreciation week a success. The PTO sponsored breakfast with bagels, fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee was wonderful. The individual cards, messages, and gifts were thoughtful and very much appreciated. Our community is our strength, and we are grateful each day for the opportunity to work with you and your children. You truly brightened our week. Thank you!
