School Re-opens
Celtics Tickets Raffle
Please help support the Vining Elementary School fourth and fifth grade students in their fundraising efforts, and enter for a chance to win a grand prize of four tickets to see the Celtics play the Pacers on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are in Balcony 302, Row 6, Seats 1-4; includes a parking pass. Winner will be drawn on December 20.
Purchase 1 raffle ticket for $5, purchase 3 raffle tickets for $10, or purchase 7 raffle tickets for $20 (best value). All of the proceeds will be put directly towards the fourth and fifth grade end of year field trips and end of year celebrations.
Tickets will be available on Wednesday, December 19 at the Dining for Dollars event at the 99 Restaurant.
Coats for Kids
Thank you to the families that have already begun to donate winter coats and jackets.
The Vining School is hosting a Coat for Kids coat drive. Please donate new and gently used winter coats. All donated items will be professionally cleaned by Anton's and distributed to local families in need. The donation box is located in the main hallway.

Morning Drop-off
Fun Run - Vining/Ditson
In March, we are planning to join the Ditson School in a fundraising event. Additional information will be sent home in the new year. The date of the Fun Run is Thursday, March 14
We will be sending home lunch to go order forms this week. Morning Drop-off
Quick request/reminder: Vining staff do not begin work until 7:45am. Please do not drop your child off prior to this time.
Recess
When the weather and temperatures permit, student will have outdoor recess. Please remind your child to wear warm winter gear to school and recess.
Report Cards
Report cards were published on Friday morning. If you are not able to access your child's Aspen account contact portalhelp@billericak12.com. In the body of your email please include your name, your child's name, and class/grade in the body of your email.

Tuesday: Dress like a snowman, snowglobe, or ornament
Wednesday: Funny or ugly sweater day
Thursday: Favorite holiday or winter movie character day

Therapy Dog - Friday on Thursday!
We are really excited to announce that our therapy dog program is returning this week. On Thursday, December 20, 2018, Friday the certified Read Dog will be visiting between 9:30 and 11:00. We are planning to have Friday visit every other week.
Please let either your child's classroom teacher or Mrs. Gibelli know if you do not want your child to visit with Friday.

Thank you to everyone that donated warm winter items to our Tree of Warmth. When I dropped the items off at Catie's Closet on Saturday morning, they asked me to extended a large thank you to everyone and to let you know that your generosity will provide warmth to elementary students in the region.
