Black-out Bullying Day
On Wednesday, September 26, please join the Billerica Community in joining together against bullying. At the Vining, we are asking students to wear black, review the BPS Anti-bullying Pledge in class and at home, commit to saying something if they see something, and to choose kindness. This week at school, we will be sharing read alouds focused on ways to promote kindness.
Boston Cares
Boston Cares is a non-profit organization that partners local businesses with schools and other agencies to complete days of service. I am happy to announce that the Vining has been selected this year. On Friday, October 5, Boston Cares is scheduled to repaint games on the hard top, build picnic and tree benches, build an herb garden, and coordinate a STEM fair for our students. Please note that due to the large number of volunteers, parking may be more difficult on this day. Boston Cares may take photographs while at the Vining for promotional purposes. Students with photo opt out permissions will not be included in these images.
PTO
Our PTO has scheduled the first meeting of the year for Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 pm in the Art/Health classroom. Some of the discussion will focus on fourth and fifth grade end-of-year celebrations, but we will also discuss events for the entire community. We will need help with event coordination, fund-raising, event supervision, etc. Meetings usually last about an hour, so please attend to see what the PTO is planning and see how you can get involved.
